Dissociating
Dissociating feels like you are mentally else where, but your body is physically there.
Dissociating is seeing yourself high above, but not seeing anything else around you.
Dissociating feels like a state of shock, but also feeling like you have no emotions.
Dissociating feels like you need to SH, but you just can't physically move.
Dissociating is not being able to remember. You don't remember people, conversations, or where you are and who you are.
Dissociating is being spacey to avoid the overwhelming emotions.
Dissociating is feeling disconnected to make you forget the triggers and memories of a traumatic situation
Trees of the jungle speak of this explorer…
There was an explorer. He was looking for a temple. The temple held the greatest riches. That was known to the planet. As he reached the destination. Written on the map. As an X at the end. He ventured up the intimidating stairwell. The door to the building opened. There was all of the treasure. Taking a step forward. His foot stepped on a switch. He descended into the trap door. Falling into a pit of vines. Feeling these vines begin to move. The explorer went to the wall. Hearing a loud hissing noise. He shot a look over his shoulder. Barly managing to miss a snake. That had attempted to bit
One night, a brother and sister are driving home together after a night at a local bar. The sister is the designated driver; the brother is drunk but functional. As they wind around a bend in the road, they are blinded by the headlights of an oncoming vehicle. The sister panics and swerves to the right. The car careens across a ditch and crashes into a tree. The brother barely manages to crawl out of the wreckage through the smashed windshield, but the sister’s legs are pinned and she cannot free herself. As the brother claws his way to safety, the vehicle catches fire. The sister is acutely conscious of her surroundings; her senses are
I am staring at a blank screen. There are no words. The white void has devoured them all and left me with nothing. I try to press the keys, but my hands hesitate. They say, “We have no words to type. Give us words and then we‘ll type. We cannot type without words.”
So I ask myself, “What are you trying to do? What is your objective?” But my mind runs blank; it has no answers. Only frustration emerges. Leaning forward I prop myself up on the desk using my elbow. It supports a heavy load, but it reliably supports me.
I vacillate between asking questions and trying in vain to see answers. I want to get something don
Forefront of Peace
Stacia Lynn Reynolds
John F. Kennedy said, “Mankind must put an end to war before war puts an end to mankind.” It does not matter where a person dwells upon this Earth; we all witness the effects of calamities and war: A solider on the frontlines, images that daily reel over media, first hand witness of bloodshed, terrorism, global warming, climatic catastrophes, heartache, pain; uncertainty with no gain. The wars between humanity began in the ancient times, and has escalated in intensity into today’s world. Martin Luther King Jr. spoke of peace among mankind when he stated, “If we are to have peac
A lot of people seemed to think that when you hacked a security camera, it sparked, or shuddered, or suddenly lost motor control and just stared at the ground. Reality was a lot more mundane: the cameras behaved exactly like they always did, just without transmitting anything. The information flow was intercepted and overlaid with a loop of stock video made to look like the camera’s normal feed; ideally, at the other end of the line, whoever or whatever was watching would never notice the tampering. In and out, let no one know – that was Tayl’s modus operandi, even when he wasn’t on the job. The cameras continued their
“You’ve dressed like it’s New year’s or someone’s birthday, Tala,” remarked Lera, rather amused, smiling questioningly at the wraith’s unusually elaborate choice of wardrobe that morning.
A chignon bunching her voluminous hair pinned smoothly in place with a delicate diamond diadem he gave her for New Year's the previous holiday, and the black velvet choker centered with a garnet stone struck the nonchalant Lera as somewhat excessive. But he smiled at her extravagance.
"Here," She gently tugged on his shoulder.
"What is it now, Tala?" Lera asked before they headed out the door.
